To educate and prepare clinical social workers to have subject-specific knowledge and understanding with trauma-genic psychopathology, substance abuse, gender-based violence, and other situations which challenge an individual’s coping system.

At the end of the course graduates are expected to:
Be prepared as counselors that have the necessary skills in intervening with mental health disorders, forms of trauma, substance abuse, Gender-based violence (GBV), in addition to an understanding of how social, economic, and political environments contribute to mental health.
Are knowledgeable and focused on interventions across the spectrum of mental health disorders, from early symptoms to severe impairment.
Have self-centered and client-centered social competencies to deal with stressful situations and pressure in highly demanding working conditions. For themselves and their clients.
Duration and scope
The beginning of an academic year is always at the end of August/beginning of September.
The workload for the Master’s degree programme in Social Work is 50 credits. This corresponds to a planned duration of study of 6 semesters.
The programme is completed when 40 credits have been successfully completed in accordance with the provisions in the compulsory theoretical modules and 10 credits in accordance with the provisions in the field practicum.
